Apple Cuts iPhone Prices in India, but Analysts Doubt Effectiveness
Discount Not Expected to Boost Sales
Apple has reduced the prices of select iPhone models in India, a move that has drawn skepticism from industry analysts.
Price Drop Fails to Impress
Despite the price cuts of up to 3,500 rupees (approximately $50), analysts believe the strategy will fail to significantly boost iPhone sales in India. They argue that the Indian market is price-sensitive but also quality-conscious, and that Apple's premium pricing often deters consumers.
iPhone 11 Reduced
The iPhone 11, which was previously priced at 64,900 rupees, is now available for 59,900 rupees. The iPhone 11 Pro has also seen a reduction from 99,900 rupees to 89,900 rupees.
Competition Heats Up
Analysts also point to the increasing competition in the Indian smartphone market. As older iPhone models become more affordable, they face competition from other popular brands such as Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.
